PosMac organizes demo centre

PosMac Cutting Machines and Weber Laserservice have recently moved from 't Harde to Heteren. In the beautiful new building, people are working hard on the organization of a demo center. Very soon, all four cutting disciplines (plasma, laser, oxy-fuel and waterjet) can be demonstrated live here.

"This center is unique in Europe," say Jos Derksen and Joep Buitink of Posmac. "OEM’s do have such centers, however, there is no center where all metal cutting techniques are being shown."
Posmac is able to organize and exploit this demo center, as they have, in combination with Weber Laserservice, knowledge of all four cutting techniques. Posmac itself represents the Czech company PTV Waterjet as well as the Japanese brand Koike (plasma, oxy-fuel and laser) in the Benelux. Weber is responsible for the service and maintenance concerning cutting machines of these and other brands, including Bystronic and Adige.

Together, the two companies have had a beautiful premises built in Heteren. It is situated along the A50 near Arnhem, and thus easily reachable for everyone. With constructing they have clearly chosen for appearance. On the outside, with the black tinted glass, the building looks austere, and on the inside it’s no different. In the high-ceiling lobby there are several elements that show what can be made by using modern cutting techniques. Like a flight of stairs with glass steps and stainless steel handrails. The largest and most striking part is a showroom of 750 square meters. Before the end of this year six machines will be displayed here. Two PTV waterjet cutting machines (a 5-axis machine 2.5D and a 2D machine), two plasma cutters from Koike (one of which with oxy-fuel) and two flatbed lasers. "Of all the cutting disciplines, we will show a basic model and an advanced automated system," says Derksen. "This way we want to give the visitors of this demo center an impression of the total spectrum in the cutting field ."

The showroom will have the appearance of an exhibition presentation. The room will be carpeted, the light can be dimmed, and each machine can be individually lighted. Furthermore, it is fully equipped. The canteen on the first floor has a large window, which offers a complete view of the showroom. In the canteen itself plasma screens are situated on the wall, on which demonstrations can be shown. Above all, there are several rooms for training, beamer presentations, etc. "In the near future, a visitor will enter the showroom with a DXF file, and immediately the product will be made on one of the machines. This way the results of all four techniques can be compared," Buitink explains. "So with this demo center, we offer the customer something extra with choosing a suitable machine. The cost calculations can also be provided for."

But that's not all. Derksen and Buitink also want to organize special cutting weeks, and seminars on various topics. There is plenty of room for customer’s employees (operators, administrators, programmers) to be educated and further trained.

PosMac is already working from Heteren, and is using the remaining months of this year to fully complete the showroom. In the spring of 2011, the demo center will be taken into use festively.
